Avoid Formaldehyde Safety Issues by Choosing P.C. Hardwood Floors

When you’re choosing flooring, it’s essential to choose a product that’s not only well-manufactured and durable, but safe for home use, as well. It’s easy to think that any company selling flooring is selling a product that’s safe for you to use, but unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Recent studies conducted by CBS’s “60 Minutes” found that some hardwood flooring sold in North America has higher levels of formaldehyde than is permitted under California safety and health standards.

At P.C. Hardwood Floors, we pride ourselves on providing our clients with high quality flooring products, including solid hardwood, engineered hardwood, laminate and vinyl, moldings, specialty flooring and more, and we remain committed to doing so. Our products are held to high standards, and our specialists have more than 30 years of combined experience with hardwood flooring, so no matter what you need for your home or business, we can help.

Study Finds Unsafe Formaldehyde Levels in Samples

In the study, “60 Minutes” tested flooring in Virginia, Texas, Florida, Illinois, and New York—30 samples were tested of Chinese-made laminate flooring sold in the U.S., and out of all 30, only one was compliant with formaldehyde emissions standards. Some samples had as much as 13x the California limit, according to CBS.

You shouldn’t have to worry about whether your home’s floors are safe. At P.C.
